The cost

The reject you cannot see at production is the one that costs you the customer.

Bad prep does not fail on the line. It fails six months later, in the field, at your customer’s premises — and then it is rework, a warranty claim, and a client who gives the next job to someone else. Prep is the cheapest place to save money and the most expensive place to get it wrong.

What it does

Two steps, one drum.

AluEtch Assassin cleans off grease, oil, smut and forming-lubricant residue, and micro-etches the surface so powder coat and paint grip — in one step. It replaces a separate cleaner and a separate etch, which means one less tank to control and one less place for the process to drift.

Fluoride etchPre-treatment systems without fluoride do not etch aluminium properly and give poor adhesion. This one etches where iron-phosphate-only systems fall short.
Silicate-freeNo scale or sludge build-up in the tank.
ConcentrateDiluted 1 to 20% depending on the job, so one drum makes many drums of working solution.
What it is for, and what it is not

Aluminium and soft metals. Trade only.

MetalsAluminium, and other soft metals — magnesium and zinc.
Who uses itPowder-coaters, anodisers, extruders, fabricators and metal-finishing shops.
Not forConsumer or DIY use. We supply it to industrial and professional buyers only.
Not a pickle and passivateIt is not that, and it should never be described as one.
For steel and stainlessUse Corrosion Assassin instead. Where Corrosion Assassin stops, AluEtch Assassin starts.
How to use it

Dilute. Apply. Rinse. Coat.

Dilute 1 to 20% depending on the job, apply, rinse off with clean water and do not let it dry on the metal, then coat.

Dilution per job, contact time and method come from the product data sheet, which is still to come. They are left blank rather than estimated — on a pre-treatment line a guessed figure costs a batch.

There is no order button on this page, deliberately. It is supplied to trade buyers, and the company name on the enquiry is how that is enforced.

Before you buy

The questions buyers actually ask.

What is it for?

Cleaning and etching aluminium before powder coating or painting. Powder-coaters, anodisers, extruders, fabricators and metal-finishing shops.

What metals?

Aluminium, and other soft metals — magnesium and zinc. For steel and stainless, use Corrosion Assassin.

Is it one step or two?

One. It cleans off grease, oil, smut and forming-lubricant residue and micro-etches the surface in the same pass, replacing a separate cleaner and a separate etch.

Is it a concentrate?

Yes. Diluted 1 to 20% depending on the job, so one drum makes many drums of working solution.

What dilution do I use?

It depends on the job, and the figure per job is being pinned down. It is not published here until it is, because guessing it would cost you a batch.

Why does fluoride matter?

Pre-treatment systems without fluoride do not etch aluminium properly and give poor adhesion. This one etches where iron-phosphate-only systems fall short.

How do I order it?

You enquire, and we come back to you. We supply it to industrial and professional buyers only, which is why the company name is required.
