What is the fastest way to remove rust from steel components?

For most steel components, a soak or brush application of a water-based rust remover beats grinding or blasting, because the chemical does the work while your team does something else. There is no disc changing, no masking and no operator standing over each part. Corrosion Assassin lifts rust on contact and leaves a clean, paint-ready surface, so the part moves straight to coating.

Does rust remover damage the base metal?

A properly matched rust remover should not. Mechanical methods take sound metal off with the rust — pitting, thinning and warping the part — while an over-aggressive acid keeps attacking once the rust is gone. Corrosion Assassin is formulated to lift iron oxide and leave the base steel intact, which is exactly why compatibility matters: the goal is to save the component, not scrap it.

Is Corrosion Assassin safe on stainless steel?

Can I use it on galvanised steel?

Yes, but only above ground and in ventilated areas. Corrosion Assassin is a phosphoric-acid product, and acid on the zinc of galvanised steel releases hydrogen gas. In open, ventilated conditions that disperses safely; in a confined or underground space it can build to a dangerous level, so it must never be used there. Test a sample first and keep the work ventilated.

How is a rust remover cheaper than grinding?

The litre price isn’t the number that matters — labour is. Grinding and blasting tie up skilled hands, consumables and booth time on every part, and they remove good metal that later fails inspection. A chemical remover cuts the labour hours per part and protects the base metal, so you scrap fewer components and re-machine less. Once you count hours, rejects and rework, the total cost comes down.
